Just Awesome

Outstanding place to stay and Jessica the receptionist was very helpful during my arrival. I requested a shower chair also during my stay and one was provided. The full experience at the hotel was Awesome with a great view of the Sea Wall. Everything near by is convenient and mostly in walking distance. This was truly one of my best experiences I'll have to say. Keep up the great work and quality.

Avoid Tru by Hilton Galveston – Poorly Managed & Unhygienic

This hotel fails in cleanliness, service, and basic hospitality standards. Rooms were never cleaned despite posted schedules, and cockroaches were present, including in pizza boxes left in hallways for three days. The ventilation system was uncontrollable, blasting freezing air all night, making sleep impossible.
Service was nonexistent—only two towels were provided, with a six hour wait for replacements. Management was unresponsive, and front desk staff misled us about safety.
Breakfast was unsanitary and not supervised, with lukewarm food and children handling items with bare hands. Hygiene concerns were so severe they were reported to public health authorities.
For the price paid, this stay was unacceptable. Hilton should urgently address the management and upkeep of this property. Avoid at all costs.

Jessica saves the day!!

Came down for a college tour with the kid. Forgot to prepay and print parking pass prior to leaving home. Get to hotel, login, printer not working, while waiting to ask for help the computer logs me out. Jessica came to my rescue!!! She got me to a computer, helped ensure I was indeed logged out in the lobby, got my pass printed and was so super friendly through the process. Great customer service can sometime be rare in today’s world. We need to call it out when we see it!! Thank you Jessica for saving the day!!!!

DO NOT RECOMMEND. High potential for bugs as they don’t maintain and clean during the stay. Very basic room without a place to put luggage other than on the floor. When you are walking on the floor after being outside there is potential for bugs to get in luggage. Only provided two towels/ wash clothes to start with. No room cleaning in the entire time we were there of 5 days and 4 nights. When there is a posting on the bathroom Mirror will be cleaned every other day. Pizza boxes left from another room in the hall for 3 days. When called and asked for clean towels it took 5 hours to get them- had to drip dry. Breakfast was room temperature at the most. We are very disappointed in the cost of our stay and the lack of services provided. UPDATE: After calling and speaking to Jessica all they offered was the parking refunded. Was told the room was scheduled for cleaning of which never happened. They tried to blame us for their lack of service. Very disappointed in Hilton!

Find some place else. If you book an ocean view, you probably won't get the one in the pics. There's only like four of those in the whole hotel. The rest are all side facing, so if you look far off, you can see the ocean a ways down, unless you get stuck in the corner like we did. You might be able to hear the ocean. The room was small and fairly clean. Except for something gross smeared all over the table/desk where I almost set my bag. It appeared housekeeping had attempting to clean it, but only succeeded in spreading it around. My wife said it smelled bad, but I didn't notice this. Sinus congestion saved me. The bed was pretty hard and not the most comfortable. No coffee maker or ice bucket. They have ice machines, but nothing to put it in. And who doesn't have coffee makers in the rooms these days??? Certainly eliminates all chances of a relaxing morning enjoying your coffee on the balcony listening to the ocean when you have to get dressed and stagger down to the breakfast chaos like a zombie. And it is chaos. Lot of people down there. It is a fairly decent breakfast though. That surprised me. The worst part though was the sound proofing. There is none. None. Sirens all night on the seawall. The pack of sasquatch having a dance party overhead. Somebody taking a dump next door. Seriously. You could hear it. Slept terrible. Ruined the next days activities. Everyone at breakfast agreed on the poor sound proofing. For $300 a night, you can do much better.
