I chose this hotel because of its location. We wanted to stay outside of Paris because we were renting a car, and this hotel has a Metro station (and tram/RER) a few steps from the lobby. Hotel parking is in an underground garage across the street, and you can easily roll your bags to a hotel elevator directly from the parking area. We had a "superior" room, which was spacious, well maintained and quiet. We didn't know much about Saint Denis before we arrived, but we visited the Basilica and it is amazing. It's where most of the kings of France are buried and we spent an entire afternoon there. For dining, we usually had breakfast at Maison Honoré (a few doors up the street) which has delicious pastries and excellent coffee. For dinner, we favored Joe's Grill, next to the hotel.

Horrible choice

This hotel was chosen as accommodations during the Olympics, and it was atrocious. During the hottest time of the year, the air conditioning never worked. Opening the window resulted in loud, non-stop noise from traffic, passing trains, and police whistles from officers directing traffic. The noise could still be heard with the windows closed, forcing a white noise generator to be implemented. The bed was uncomfortable. The towels were paper thin. The shampoo and shower gel were watered down. There are no USB ports anywhere. INo service was offered to make repairs. The revolving door out front was broken and never fixed. The restaurant in the hotel doesn’t know how to cook scrambled eggs and the bacon was barely cooked at all. The only good thing was there is a Metro station literally steps from the front door, so you can escape quickly and go elsewhere. My recommendation: don’t stay here unless you enjoy sleeping in stifling hot rooms with no ventilation.

Hotels Novotel in France take no responsibility for your belongings and do nothing to preserve them

In the paid underground parking lot of this hotel, my car window was broken, things were stolen.
The hotel denied compensation. The hotel refused to view the security cameras.
The hotel manager smiled sweetly with the answer: the parking is owned by another company. The sign that says "Novotel Hotel Parking" means nothing.
Made copies of checks for stolen items. Promised to settle the matter through their insurance company.
For all the questions about insurance in the room price, hotel liability - there is none of that in France.
We advise you: contact your insurance company.
Get around the Novotel chain in France!!!
Staff, including supervisors, are totally inadequate and not client-oriented.
