Nice place, very clean but could use a shake up.

Hotel is the former castle of Kronenburg. A beautiful complex which contains a large part of the old historic town. We had a very nice hotel room with perfect bathroom. Very clean, as usual in Germany.
Separate front door because we had the stay where Wilhelm Tell used to stay when he was there.
Staff were a little less competent. Explanation of where to park was not very clear: it was directed to mainly stand in the private parking lot (for 10, - per night) while a little further are in many public parking lots.
Pool was very clean with a nice location but certainly not the 23 degrees it should be. Plenty of place to sunbathe with sun loungers.
Unfortunately, few restaurants in Kronenburg are currently open.
Walking nearby is fine.
However, 3 nights was more than sufficient to spend there. A little more activity would be nice.

Great ambience

Great atmosphere within a castle complex. The breakfast is excellent. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel. The room is small and spartanly furnished. The bathroom is new and modern. Everything was very clean and tidy.

House with a view

We didn't stay in this house, we just had coffee and cake. However, we liked everything we saw so much that if we come back to the area, we will definitely stay here. The decor of the dining room, the view, the garden - everything was idyllic. The service, which we experienced briefly, was pleasant, friendly and quick. The cake was excellent and definitely home-made.

Delicious pastries with coffee

Enjoyed delicious coffee and pastries here. Friendly staff. The method of settlement is somewhat unusual. First pick up your order yourself. Provide table number (which was now occupied by someone else) and settle later. Hilarity everywhere

Hoe het ons verging (deze info ook aan het hotel zelf doorgegeven)

I would like to share our experience in your hotel.
21/6
Already upon arrival we got a rushed feeling.
An hour had to be agreed for both dinner and breakfast, which apparently had to be correct on the quarter hour.
On vacation, living according to the clock is one of the things you absolutely try to avoid, but that was not an option for you.
There's nothing better on vacation than going to the breakfast buffet to choose what you're in the mood for at that moment.
That was also not an option for our first morning. We had to write down what we wanted for breakfast for the next day.
When we arrived we didn't get the room that was booked.
After a comment from us about this we were directed to the correct room.
When we wanted to settle here we were told that you couldn't give us this room because it was occupied by someone else.
You asked us to choose from a room with a shower or a smaller room with a bath.
We opted, very against our will, for the last room.
This one was not only much warmer but also much smaller.
When we finished unpacking everything, drenched in sweat, we were told that we could still get the room we had booked.
We were able to pack everything back together so you could take it to the right room.
You don't want to start your vacation like that!
We also finally received confirmation that we could come for dinner at 7 pm, so we didn't have to be even earlier.
We had chosen the "Premium Wander-Tage" package. Since we asked about it ourselves, we could use a topographical map that was glued together with "property of the hotel" in large.
That where the description of this package speaks of "Tourenbeschreibungen / Kartenmaterial". However, we never saw tour descriptions.
When we arrived at the restaurant for dinner, we just stood there spinning around until the giggling girls shouted to each other "Geste! Geste!".
Since I have to eat gluten free there was no choice. I had to eat vegetarian.
We also ordered rose wine and sparkling water but these were not chilled at all.
There were 4 other tables occupied in the resaturant. Why we had to arrive exactly on time is a mystery.
22/6
On our first breakfast we wondered if there is a problem with the fridges? Everything was room temperature. The cheese, the fruit juice, the yogurt, the smoked fish, ...
In the context of food safety and taste, this is very regrettable.
By 2nd dinner we understood the concept.
First we have to stand around and turn around until someone notices us.
Then we are shown to our table.
Again I am told that there is no choice for me.
We already know that the wine and water are served warm, so ask for extra ice cubes.
during our 2nd night we were very annoyed by our upstairs neighbors who were very late in the evening (night), but also very early in the morning, trying to get their 10,000 steps. So this was a very bad night. The room is very noisy.
Since we didn't have to fill in a piece of paper for the next morning, we were already looking forward to our breakfast buffet.
So this was another cold shower.
Again no buffet, but no choice today either.
So we will have to eat the same as the day before.
That I also wanted to eat gluten-free bread today, they hadn't thought of that. After a surprised look this was baked.
Because we didn't see anyone for a while, we went to our room to load our car.
Then I went to check out neatly and return the hiking map, but again I found no one and I was turning around again.
Given our schedule for the rest of the day and given all the comments above, I wasn't going to look any further for staff.
I was very aware of the fact that you have our details and that I could also receive the bill via email.
With great regret I paid this bill because it was not worth that price for us.
Subject to well-founded arguments on your part, this story will also be published on the sites where I can leave a review.
Hoping for understanding and insight from your side, I kindly sign,
