TINY rooms, Poor Bonvoy rewards, AMAZING LOCATION
Iv been with my other half for over 12 years, this room put that to the test!
There is no room for suitcases. We had one standard sized suitcase and one small back pack each so that took up any “extra” space which may have existed. We had to carefully coordinate our movements around the room including when to remove items from out cases, who would use the bathroom and when and how we would be out of each others way for each carefully planned manoeuvre. My other half had to climb over me to get in or out of the bed. The bathroom could only fit 1 person at a time.
However, friendly staff, a lovely signature scent in the lobby, handy amenities table to help yourself to before heading up the lift, tea and coffee facilities in the room are appreciated as well as many of the other amenities in the room. And most importantly, the location is exceptional! 5 minute walk to Dotonbori, you cant do much better at this price.
A few considerations to make, breakfast…..I personally would not bother paying for it again unless its rock bottom prices, it was very odd and inconsistent. It was very minimal and not really aimed to the western palate which I suppose is fair enough. Also dont dwell too long, you will be asked to leave at exactly 1030 regardless of whether you have finished buttering your croissant or not.
Lifts, rather painful waits regularly. There are only 2 for what I think was 10 floors. I spent almost 10 minutes on one occasion waiting for a lift. Not sure if it was staff holding the lifts elsewhere but it was frustrating.
Bonvoy….I was very disappointed to realise after I had booked that I would not receive Bonvoy Nights for each night I stayed here. You only receive a night for 2 nights stayed. I stayed 3 yet will only have 1 credited. This is a bit of a scam if you ask me. My own fault for not actually noticing it when I booked, I’ll be more diligent in the future. If earning nights is important to you, avoid this property.
Having said all that, I still found the hotel acceptable. The price was right, the location superb and my marriage is still intact.
I would consider again.
