Very beautiful scenery and next to the main attraction, the groot gat! Amazing breakfast and hospitality. Kids enjoyed the pool and we enjoyed the grass for afternoon snacks and beverages.

Had problems with the aircon system. It was a weakend of 39 degrees days and aircon did not cool the room at all, even after we asked to be moved to another room.
They need to make a plan with the aircon system of the rooms.

Relaxing and comfortable, great customer service.

What a warm and friendly welcome we received at the Protea! Every single one of the staff were extremely professional, efficient and cheerful. We enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant. We particularly enjoyed the bobotie spring rolls. The ambience of the hotel, very comfortable bed and above all the staff made it a most enjoyable stay. Special mention for Blondie who was attentive and served us with care and good humour!

Disgusting Restaurant On Property

One would expect with a 4 Star hotel like Protea Marriot they would have a up to standard restaurant on their property. The Cullinan Restaurant is nothing more than disgusting. Basic items like pizza an chicken snitchel and ciabatta bread with chicken livers not available. We ordered the basic Beef Burger and Spaghetti Bolognese. Took them an hour to prepare a overcooked burger and disgusting spagetti. We were the only people in the restaurant.
According to the reviews this issue has been going on for some time.
Please look into this and treat it with the necessary urgency that it requires.

Rooms were okay, but service was poor. Housekeeping only cleaned the room once. Didnt sweep the floor or clean the cups glasses. Only left 2 towels, whilst the room was a double room housing 4 people.
While dining at the reataurant, the chicken was still raw when served. That after we waited more than an hour for our food, without any indication from the waiters that there will be delays. At check out the staff member had the nerve to acuse me of not paying my restaurant bill, which was not true as I paid the bill after dining even though the kids were served raw chicken.
This speaks to the overall poor management of the facility. I will not stay at this establishment again and will not recommend it to anyone. Very disappointed.
