Great stay

Stayed here and was really impressed. The room was spacious and clean with great facilities such as USB sockets, reading lights and a smart TV. Huge comfortable bed and modern bathroom.
I was right at the top but it was quiet which was a bonus. Definitely stay again

Wonderful experience

Food, drinks, ambience and staff were faultless in Aughton. Especially our waitress L**y who was sparkly, bubbly and had a great big smile. She made our day. It was a last minute booking for lunch and we were not disappointed. The lunch time menu is excellent value for money and the standard of food served is not compromised at all

Nice enough overnight stay, amazing service from Louisa.

My wife and I overnighted at M&C as we attended a friend's birthday celebration nearby. Here are my observations:
Review Summary:
Overall Experience: Mixed feelings, significantly uplifted by excellent customer service.
Staff and Service:
Louisa: Exceptional service from Louisa before and during the stay. She made efforts to arrange an earlier check-in and was very attentive and friendly throughout. She is a standout employee and a real asset to the business.
Location:
Conveniently situated just off a busy main A-road.
Surprisingly, the traffic noise was minimal and not disruptive.
Accommodation:
Check-in: Straightforward, though an early check-in was not possible due to previous occupants. The manager provided clear instructions for after-hours access via an electronic entry system at the top of an external, metal fire-escape.
Room: Clean but quite small and lacked air conditioning, making it uncomfortably hot overnight.
Breakfast:
Overall good, but some aspects need improvement.
Pros: Full breakfast option available.
Cons: Poor quality sausages (mushy and likely frozen) and no HP or brown sauce available, which is disappointing for a traditional British fry-up.
Conclusion:
The experience was largely positive due to Louisa's exceptional service. Without her, the rating would have been 2 stars less.
There are areas that M&C could improve, particularly the quality of breakfast items, better after-hours access and the lack of air conditioning.
Louisa should be recognised as a key employee and rewarded as such. Great employees are hard to come by and M&C should recognise this in her amazing representation of the the company.

SUPERB STAFF AND MEAL

Our table waitress, ANNA, was superb...nothing was too much trouble ..and all done with a lovely smile.. And Manageress Jacquie was just terrific too. Both are 'people ' people. The Monday night deal was great too...'Steak/cocktail'...£20! What's not to like! We will be back!

Large room with comfy bath tub

It is a steak house so the ambiance is as you might expect but it does everything well. Large bedroom (No 3) with large bathroom and a stand alone tub that actually fills up quickly. Excellent breakfast; perfectly cooked eggs. Service friendly at all times.
